On this day in 1948, 4 years after the P-80 single seat fighter version, the Lockheed T-33 Shooting Star (T-Bird) jet trainer flew for the first time. More than 6000 copies have been built, of which 10 % by Canadair, which have contributed to training generations of fighter pilots of all nationalities. Bolivia used their T-33s until 2017
